A person who has been arrested must post bail—cash or its equivalent—to the court in order to guarantee that he will show up for court when required. The court sets a warrant for the accused’s arrest and maintains the bail if the accused fails to appear in court. If you have a cash bond to the court, you’d have to bring cash money to the jail. You could bring certified funds of some sort but you can never bring a check.
